A new supermarket opening in Ipswich next month will celebrate its launch with a donation to the Ipswich Disabled Advice Bureau.

Bureau Manager, Pat Ramsey, Chairman, David Robinson and Vice Chairman, John Le Grys from the Ipswich Disabled Advice Bureau, will be the guests of honour when the new Tesco Express store opens, on Tuesday 3rd December on Norwich Road. They will be invited to cut a ribbon to declare the new store officially open.

Store manager, Robin Williams and his team will present Pat, David and John with a cheque for £500 as part of its commitment to supporting the local community.

The Ipswich Disabled Advice Bureau was founded in 1973 and this year is celebrating 40 years of working to support local people with any form of disability. The charity also provides vital help for their carers, families and others in related fields, who live in Ipswich and surrounding area. The Bureau provides services such as free and confidential advice, information and advocacy.

Tesco Express store manager, Robin said: “We are delighted to be able to support the Ipswich Disabled Advice Bureau, as they do such wonderful work for the local community. We are really pleased that Pat, David and John are coming to launch the new store and join in the celebrations with us.

“My team and I are looking forward to welcoming our customers into the new store and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community.”

The doors of the new Tesco Express on Norwich Road open for the first time at 8am on Tuesday 3rd December, with the official opening ceremony and cheque presentation taking place later that morning at 10.30am.

Store opening hours will be seven days a week from 6am until 11pm, and for added convenience the store will have a free cash machine, self-service tills, mobile phone top-up facility and bakery. In addition to beers, wines, spirits and free customer parking.

There will also be a Click and Collect service where customers can order online from Tesco Direct, and pick up in store – everything from buggies to bikes.
